In honor of March being Women’s History Month, we thought it was important to discuss the ways in which we can keep our wonderful women today healthy and happy. Did you know that as of 2016, over thirty-eight percent of women over the age of twenty are obese in the United States? Implementing these lifestyle changes could save your life:

    • Engage in at least one-hundred and fifty minutes of physical activity per week.
    • Manage your nutrition to ensure that you are eating the appropriate amount of calories for your height and weight.
    • Cut back on drinking alcohol. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism states that low-risk drinking among women means no more than seven drinks per week.
    • The American Cancer Society recommends women aged forty-five to forty-nine years receive a mammogram every year to screen for breast cancer.
  • When it comes to reproductive health, women should have a pap smear every year to test for cervical cancer and abnormal cell changes.
